Yelloweye Rockfish

Yelloweye Rockfish - Sebastes ruberrimus Yelloweye Rockfish, also known as Alaskan Red Snapper. This Yelloweye was caught in Frederick Sound, off the North tip of Kuiu Island, in Southeast Alaska. A custom mold had to be made of this fish, due to the lack of a reproduction its size. The Yelloweye is 36" long with a girth of 30". Yelloweye Rockfish are fished at deep depths using lead jigs and bait. Yelloweye Rockfish make a colorfully vibrant fish mount.
